TL;DR Google Ads has no price list: every click is priced in an auction, keyword by keyword. In B2B, clicks cost far more than the averages most guides quote. Across 12 US commercial B2B keywords, the median estimated CPC is $45.53 (DataForSEO, pulled October 26, 2026). Budget = target leads ÷ conversion rate × CPC, then compare your cost per lead with what a customer is worth. And fix your measurement before you spend. For hands-on help, see our Google Ads agency.
"Google ads cost" gets 3,600 searches a month in the US, and "prix google ads" 140 in France (DataForSEO, September 2026). Most of the top pages we read quote all-industry averages or small-business budgets. A B2B leader needs something else: what does a click cost on my keywords, how much should I put into a test, and at what cost per lead does the campaign lose money?
Google Ads cost: no price list, one auction per search
Google Ads runs an auction every time someone searches. Your position depends on your bid, on the quality of your ad and landing page, and on the context of the search. You pay based on the auction, not on your maximum bid: Google's own help page says that what you end up paying is often less than your bid. Because quality is scored inside the auction, your landing page is part of your price.
Budgets work on averages. You set an average daily budget. For most campaigns, Google can spend up to twice that amount on a given day, and the month is capped at 30.4 times the average daily budget (Google Ads Help). Example: a $100 daily budget means at most $3,040 in a month.
B2B CPC in Google Ads: 24 keywords pulled in the US and France
Six B2B buying categories, two commercial terms per category and per country, in this order: CRM, ERP, cybersecurity, SEO agency, industrial equipment, training. French terms are what French buyers type, not translations. Amounts are in US dollars (DataForSEO's unit, not converted). Low and high bids are top-of-page bids.

What these 24 rows show (Klickbee calculations on the tables):
The US median CPC is $45.53 (from $5.37 to $128.62, 11 keywords with a CPC). The French median is $15.60 (from $3.73 to $34.09).
The spread inside B2B is huge: about 24 times between the cheapest and the most expensive US keyword, about 9 times in France. There is no "average B2B price."
All-industry averages do not tell you the price of a buying term. WordStream reports a US median of $5.87 per click for business services and $5.42 across all industries (search campaigns, April 2025 to March 2026). Our US median is about 8 times higher. The two do not compare directly: one is a median of live campaigns, the other an estimate for individual buying terms.
Volume caps the budget before money does. "corporate training programs" has 260 searches a month. Even with one click per search, spend would top out near $4,060 a month (260 × $15.61).
Method and limits of these numbers
Source and date: DataForSEO, Google Ads search volume endpoint, pulled October 26, 2026, for the US (code 2840, language en) and France (code 2250, language fr). Three French candidates with no Google Ads data ("agence seo b2b", "logiciel crm b2b", "solution cybersécurité entreprise") were replaced.
Definitions: per DataForSEO's documentation, CPC is the amount paid per click, in USD. The low and high top-of-page bids are thresholds near the 20% and 80% marks of the bids for ads that were shown.
An estimated CPC is not your cost: your Quality Score, targeting and bid strategy will move the price. It even exceeds the high bid for 7 of 11 US keywords and 6 of 12 French ones, for a reason we do not know. Read the columns as an order of magnitude, not as a rate card.
Volumes: 12-month monthly average, and Google groups close variants. "crm software" averages 201,000 a month but shows 550,000 in September 2026 against 74,000 in March 2026. B2B volumes are often underestimated: that is a practitioner's view, not a measurement.

Google Ads budget for B2B: the formula to size a test
The formula: monthly budget = target leads ÷ conversion rate × CPC. The conversion rate is the share of clicks that become a lead (form, call, quote request). In two steps: clicks needed = target leads ÷ conversion rate, then budget = clicks × CPC.
Target leads per month: Value: 10; Type: Assumption
Illustrative example, not a result. The $30 CPC sits inside the range of the tables (the US median is $45.53). The 3% rate is an assumption, set below the 4.85% US median that WordStream reports for business services. Those conversions are measured by the platform, and the page does not say they are qualified leads.
Cost per lead is CPC divided by conversion rate. Here is how it moves (assumptions):
Conversion rate matters as much as CPC: going from 2% to 5% cuts the cost per lead by 2.5 times, exactly like a CPC that is 2.5 times cheaper. And a small budget does not make a small test, it makes an unreadable one: $500 a month buys about 11 clicks at the US median CPC of the table, a third of a lead at 3% (assumption).
Our advice, and it is an opinion: start from the number of leads you need in order to decide, apply the formula, then shrink the scope (one offer, one market, a handful of precise keywords) if the budget it gives is more than you can spend.
Cost per lead: what can you afford to pay for a B2B lead?
The right ceiling comes from what a customer is worth, not from a benchmark: maximum cost per lead = customer value × lead-to-customer rate × share of that value you will invest in acquisition.
Customer value (lifetime gross margin): Value: $45,000; Type: Assumption
Lead-to-customer rate: Value: 5% (1 lead in 20); Type: Assumption
Value of one lead: Value: $45,000 × 0.05 = $2,250; Type: Calculation
Share invested in acquisition: Value: one third; Type: Assumption
Maximum cost per lead: Value: $2,250 ÷ 3 = $750; Type: Calculation
With these assumptions, the previous test, at $1,000 per lead, is above the $750 ceiling. In the grid, four of the nine cells sit at or below $750. Three ways out: lift the conversion rate, target cheaper keywords, or do not launch. Your lead-to-customer rate comes from your CRM and your sales funnel, stage by stage. To make "lead" mean something, see our guide to B2B lead generation.
Fix your measurement before you spend on Google Ads
Both formulas assume a trustworthy conversion rate and value. They come from measurement, the step most budgets skip.
According to Google Ads Help, primary conversion actions are counted in the "Conversions" column and used for bidding, while secondary actions are for observation only. Two primary actions on the same sale therefore count twice. On those transactions, the reported cost per conversion was half the real cost per buyer. With a value of 0, automated bidding has nothing to optimize toward.
Five checks before the first dollar:
01One primary conversion action per real business event (quote, call, meeting), everything else secondary.
02A non-zero value, or a written value rule, on the conversions that drive bidding.
03Cookie refusal honored, and tested.
04CRM lead status sent back to Google Ads through offline conversion imports (qualified leads, sales). Google notes that a CRM is not required: a spreadsheet can be enough.
05A written definition of a qualified lead, agreed by marketing and sales.
At Klickbee, the written plan comes before the first spend, and tracking (Google Tag Manager, GA4, enhanced conversions, offline conversion imports, CRM lead-status sync) is set up before launch. For the details, see our marketing analytics consulting and our article on Klickbee Tracking.
Conclusion: Google Ads cost in B2B is a calculation, not a quote
Google Ads cost in B2B is something you calculate: the CPC of the buying term, the conversion rate, and what a customer is worth. In our pull, the CPC of a buying term runs from $5.37 to $128.62 in the US and from $3.73 to $34.09 in France. Our view: no test without a priced maximum cost per lead, repaired measurement and a budget that produces enough conversions to decide. Spending less does not protect you. It only produces numbers you cannot read.

Frequently asked questions
How much does Google Ads cost for a B2B company?
There is no fixed price: the price forms in an auction. In our pull of 11 US keywords with a CPC, the estimated average CPC runs from $5.37 to $128.62, with a median of $45.53. Agency or freelancer fees come on top of the media budget.
Is $10 a day, or $500 a month, enough for B2B Google Ads?
Usually not for a readable test. $10 a day is about $304 a month (30.4 days), or roughly 7 clicks at the US median CPC of our table. $500 buys about 11 clicks. At a 3% conversion rate (assumption), that is under half a lead.
How does Google Ads bidding work?
Your bid is the most you are willing to pay per click. Google runs an auction on each search and ranks ads on bid, quality, expected impact of assets and context. What you pay is based on the auction and is often less than your bid.
What is an acceptable cost per lead in B2B?
There is no universal figure. Start from customer value, multiply by the lead-to-customer rate, then by the share you accept to invest. As a reference point only, WordStream reports a US median of $93.69 per lead for business services, in platform-measured conversions.
