Signs it's time to redesign your online store
Your store sells, but it has plateaued, slowed down or costs more and more to run. Here are the signals founders and ecommerce leads share with us before a redesign.
- "The theme was fine at launch, now it slows everything down." Apps pile up, pages load slowly on mobile and cart abandonment keeps climbing.
- "Our conversion rate has been flat for a year." The traffic is there, but product pages and checkout no longer keep up.
- "Our platform is reaching end of life." An old Magento, PrestaShop or unmaintained WooCommerce install turns every update into a risk.
- "We spend more on ads to sell the same volume." A store that converts poorly makes every visit more expensive.
- "Stock, orders and customers live in three tools." Without an ERP or CRM connection, your team re-keys orders and oversells.
- "We're afraid of breaking everything." A poorly prepared redesign can drop sales and traffic for months, which is why most brands keep postponing it.

Our story
We had the same problem, on our own e‑commerce

What we protect, what we improve
A successful ecommerce redesign is as much about what you don't lose as about what you gain.
Conversion and SEO audit
Analytics, funnel, product pages, cart, speed, rankings and revenue pages: we know what to keep, fix or rebuild before we design anything.
301 redirects and SEO protected
Every product, collection and content URL is mapped to its new page, including indexed filters. Redirects are tested before launch.
Customer, order and review data migrated
Customer accounts, order history, reviews, subscriptions, gift cards and discount codes migrated and checked, so customers find everything on launch day.
Replatforming done right
Migration from Magento, PrestaShop or an old version to Shopify or WooCommerce, with the platform chosen from your catalog and your team.
Product pages and checkout that convert
Product pages, cart and checkout redesigned for mobile, with reassurance, reviews, clear shipping, bundles and cross-sells to lift average order value.
Tracking, Merchant Center and sales continuity
GA4, consent mode, Google Shopping feed and campaigns checked on launch day. Off-peak go-live, a rollback plan and sales tracked at day 1, day 7 and day 30.
Our ecommerce redesign process
Costed scoping, a sign-off at every stage and a launch prepared so your store keeps selling throughout the redesign.
Audit and scoping
Analysis of your analytics, funnel, product pages, catalog, SEO and tech stack. We set targets (conversion, average order value, speed) and choose between a theme redesign, a full redesign or replatforming.
Design of the pages that sell
Mockups for your homepage, collections, product pages, cart and checkout, built around your best sellers and your customers' objections. You review and sign off.
Build, migration and QA
Development on Shopify or WooCommerce, migration of products, customers, orders and reviews, 301 redirect map, ERP and CRM integrations, tracking, then QA on payments, speed and redirects.
Launch and 30-day monitoring
Off-peak go-live with a rollback plan, Merchant Center and campaign checks, then sales, indexation and rankings tracked at day 1, day 7 and day 30.

Ecommerce redesign FAQ
Straight answers on cost, timelines, SEO, platforms and customer data before you redesign your store.
How much does an ecommerce website redesign cost?
It depends on the scenario. A theme and journey redesign on Shopify or WooCommerce typically costs in the thousands of dollars. A full redesign with replatforming, a large catalog and ERP integration costs in the tens of thousands. We send a fixed quote after the audit, with deliverables and dates.
When should you redesign your ecommerce website?
When the theme slows the store down, conversion has been flat for months, the platform is reaching end of life, apps keep piling up, or you can't connect your ERP and CRM. If the issue is limited to a few pages or the checkout, conversion optimization may be enough.
How long does an ecommerce redesign take?
A few weeks for a theme redesign and a few months for a redesign with replatforming and data migration. We set the schedule after the audit and avoid launching during your peak sales periods.
Will a redesign hurt our SEO?
Not when it is prepared. Every product, collection and content URL is mapped to its new page and redirected with a 301, indexed filters included. We test redirects before launch, then track indexation and rankings at day 1, day 7 and day 30.
Should we replatform during the redesign?
Not necessarily. If your platform is up to date and handles your catalog, a theme redesign is often enough. If it is end-of-life, expensive to maintain or too limited for B2B needs, the redesign is the right time to move to Shopify or WooCommerce.
What happens to customer accounts, orders and reviews?
They are migrated and checked: customer accounts, order history, reviews, subscriptions, gift cards and discount codes. When you replatform, passwords can't always be transferred, so we prepare an account activation email for your customers.
Redesign or conversion rate optimization?
If the problem sits in a few pages or the checkout, ongoing CRO is faster and less risky. If the theme, apps or platform hold everything back, you need a redesign. The audit tells you which one will pay off most.
What is a good ecommerce conversion rate?
Most online stores convert somewhere between 1% and 3%, depending on industry, price point and traffic mix. Rather than a generic benchmark, we compare your store with its own history and with similar stores, and set a realistic target in the audit.
What should we check after launch?
Orders and payments, redirects, indexation in Search Console, the Google Shopping feed in Merchant Center, sales and campaign tracking, transactional emails and page speed. We monitor all of it for you at day 1, day 7 and day 30.
Can we redesign our store in phases?
Yes. We can start with the pages that matter most to revenue, such as product pages or checkout, then handle the rest. It is often the best option when revenue can't afford any risk.
Do you work with ecommerce brands in the United States?
Yes. Klickbee has offices in France and the UAE and works with clients in Europe, the Gulf and North America. We run projects fully remotely and schedule calls in your time zone.
Don't have an online store yet?
Then you need a new build, not a redesign. We offer a dedicated ecommerce website design service for Shopify and WooCommerce, from platform choice to your first sales.
